Certificate IV in Building and Construction

This course is a pathway, providing the learning and skills for students to apply to become a registered/licensed builder. Upon receiving registration, you'll be qualified to undertake roles such as foreman, site supervisor or site manager. This is a great steppingstone to gaining your builder's licence!

Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship

The Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship at Wodonga TAFE is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the foundational skills needed to kickstart a career in the construction industry. Throughout this course, students engage in a dynamic learning environment where teamwork and effective communication are emphasized. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students learn the ins and outs of building subfloor framing, including the essential techniques for constructing bearers and joists. Hands-on practical sessions allow students to actively participate in creating and dismantling basic timber structures, gaining invaluable experience in real-world construction scenarios.

Certificate III in Carpentry

We offer on-site assessments for apprentices, meaning less down-time away from work and increased productivity. A large range of elective units suits all areas of carpentry, domestic and commercial construction, formwork, and industrial carpentry work, ensuring that you learn the skills needed to work effectively in your role and within the building industry.

Woodworking 101

The course focuses upon the use of hand tools to produce set projects designed to incorporate different learning processes. Topics include: using and maintaining hand tools, safe use of portable power tools, basic woodworking skills, basic timber joints and more. Each student will build a set project(s).

Working Safely at Heights

Working at heights training is focused on fall prevention rather than fall arrest. It is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and skills to safely work in any height situation and comply with current legislation. All workers who conduct or supervise tasks whilst at height will find this course beneficial. Training and assessment are delivered by qualified trainers from industry backgrounds.
