4WD Familiarisation

Overview

This one-day training course on-site at the Logic Campus is designed for all drivers using 4WD or all-wheel drive vehicles. The course will provide some familiarisation on 4WD vehicles and the handling characteristics of 4WD vehicles on the road. The course also provides additional training on the mobility that 4WDs offer to negotiate relatively flat terrain, such as unsealed roads and paddocks. You will learn a range of skills which fall under the following 4x4 skills:
• About the vehicle – size, centre of gravity
• Preparation and vehicle setup – vehicle checks
• Driving over various terrain – basic 4WD skills on and off road on the Logic Campus site.

Requirements

• Hold a current Australian Car Licence. Recommended: Generally it is better to train your own vehicle you plan to operate, however a TAFE vehicle may be available at an additional cost. Vehicles must be safe, roadworthy, insured and registered.

Skills developed

You will learn a range of skills which fall under the following 4x4 skills:
- About the vehicle
- Preparation and vehicle setup
- Driving over various terrain.

Fees Additional Information

The student tuition fees published are indicative only and can be subject to change given individual circumstances at the time of enrolment.

This one-day course (8 hours) is held with between three and four participants per trainer.
