Overview
This is the base qualification required to gain a registration with the Building Commission of Victoria or a structural landscape licence in NSW. You will learn skills with paving, retaining walls, concreting, drainage and plant identification and establishment. This trade-level course could lead you to work as a self-employed landscape contractor or become a tradesperson or supervisor for a landscape company or a local government landscape crew.
Delivery Methods
- On-campus – The majority of teaching and assessment is conducted on-campus
- Apprenticeship – Teaching and assessment will be required to be conducted as part of an apprenticeship

When You Can Enrol
Once you are notified that your apprenticeship has been activated, Wodonga TAFE Horticulture department will contact you for enrolment details.
Duration
Part-time: 3 Years
Apprenticeship, Part-time: 4 Years
Schedule
Start anytime, on campus!
Year 1 Apprentices: 8 x 4 day blocks
Year 2 & 3 Apprentices: 6 x 4 day blocks
Time: 8.30am-4:30pm
The remainder of the learning and assessment is completed at your workplace.
Requirements
•You need basic literacy and numeracy skills.
•You must be employed in the field and/or currently undertaking a apprenticeship.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. These will involve the assessment of your practical and theoretical knowledge through written assignments and practical project work.
