Delivery Methods
- On-campus – The majority of teaching and assessment is conducted on-campus
- Workplace – Some/all teaching and assessment will be conducted at your workplace
- Traineeship – Teaching and assessment will be required to be conducted as part of a traineeship

When You Can Start
School-based trainees: (joining AgSchools) will commence training February 2025.
Public students: (and non-school trainees) can commence at any time, classes will run once a week on Wednesdays.
When You Can Enrol
School-based trainees: (intending on joining AgSchools) are recommended to apply December/January, prior to commencement of training.
Public students: (and non-school trainees) can apply any time throughout the year.
Duration
Traineeship: 12 - 18 months Part Time, training in classroom, via workshops and onsite mentoring.
Public students: 18 - 24 months Part Time, training in classroom, via workshops and onsite mentoring.
Schedule
Variable depending on school-based traineeship, non-school traineeship or public cohort training arrangement.
Requirements
- You must have basic literacy skills and numeracy skills.
- You will require farm or agribusiness access (if you cannot find a workplace, please let us know as we may be able to assist).
- Students must have basic digital literacy skills and knowledge, including access to: internet, email and text message.
- Students will be required to have their own hi-vis collared shirt, work boots and broadbrimmed hat.
- Applicants will utilise agricultural equipment and perform some manual tasks, an average level of fitness is required.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. These will involve the assessment of your practical and theoretical knowledge, through tests, activities and written assignments.
Training will be conducted in a classroom, via workshops and through onsite mentoring.
