On Thursday November 15, Wodonga TAFE was named 2018 Australian Large Training Provider of the Year at the Australian Training Awards in Sydney.

Having already taken out the equivalent Victorian state award in September, Wodonga TAFE progressed to being named a finalist in the national awards, going up against North Metropolitan TAFE - Western Australia & TAFE NSW - Design Centre Enmore - New South Wales.

In order to be ranked as the best large training provider Australia has to offer, Wodonga TAFE was able to impress the judges by demonstrating the quality of the outcomes being achieved through a rigorous selection process that included: the completion of in-depth submissions; hosting an Australian Training Awards representative to experience a day on campus; and presenting to a panel of judges.

Wodonga TAFE CEO Mark Dixon said, “We know what we do at Wodonga TAFE is amazing, but still, it is quite incredible that our TAFE is now recognised as being the best of the best in Australia.”

“The entire Wodonga TAFE team works tirelessly to constantly enhance everything we do for our students and it’s thanks to them that we’ve earnt this accolade.”

“Our workforce is made up of the most talented, dedicated and selfless people, all giving so much to ensure our students and community has access to the best possible vocational education opportunities available.  It is a privilege to be part of the Wodonga TAFE team.”

Mark Dixon said, “As an Institute we have built a culture that is underpinned by the values of: quality and accountability; innovation; collaboration and teamwork; challenge; as well as, future success and growth.  We live and breathe these values every day, and it is our adherence to these values that make the student learning experience at our TAFE so great, and what makes Wodonga TAFE such a positive and fulfilling place to work.”

“We look forward to continuing to deliver excellent educational outcomes to individuals and businesses from across our region, in line with their career and workforce needs. We also welcome potential new staff members seeking a career with an industry leading organisation.”
