Aspiring Tradeswomen Try Out Tools at Wodonga TAFE Trades Training Centre
Friday, 12 April 2024
On Tuesday 9 April, Empowering Women in Trades (EWIT), Snowy Hydro and Wodonga TAFE welcomed a group of women to the Trades Training Centre to experience Carpentry, Electrotechnology and Plumbing trades, giving them exposure to a range of tools and an understanding of the range of roles within them.
Wodonga TAFE alumni Amy Raleigh spoke with the attendees about her experiences from her Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) course, which led her to a dual trade apprenticeship with Viva Energy Australia.
“Everyone loved the day! The mix of information sessions, hands-on activities, networking opportunities and resource availability went smoothly. To hear comments about the enjoyment of the day, and the likelihood of recommending the program to their friends was very inspiring!” David McEvoy, Lead Teacher Plumbing
Community empowerment events such as this are established under Wodonga TAFE’s core value of Community and Collaboration, and our Belonging Framework.
