Wodonga TAFE Community Services and Health graduates celebrate achievement

Tuesday, 12 March 2024

Wodonga TAFE’s Community Services and Health department is celebrating the graduation of nearly 300 students from the ‘Class of 2023’, with the ceremony for attending students, family, and friends to be held the evening of Tuesday 12 March 2024 at The Cube Wodonga.

Graduating students have completed qualifications across a diverse range of industries, including Allied Health Assistance, Community Services, Disability, Early Childhood Education and Care, Fitness, Health Services Assistance, Individual Support (Aged Care), Leisure and Health, Massage Therapy, Remedial Massage, Myotherapy, Nursing, School Based Education Support, and Work Education.
Practical placement in industry is a key component of most qualifications, with many graduates already working in their chosen sector. Director, Community Services and Health, Ms Fiona Maher, said graduates were well-equipped for employment. “Our connections with industry ensure we are delivering relevant and current qualifications. Our students often find employment opportunities that arise directly from their industry placement.”

Health Care and Social Assistance is Australia’s largest employing industry sector, with over 15% of the workforce. Employment in the sector is projected to increase by nearly 16% over the next 5 years (Source: Jobs and Skills Australia, www.jobsandskills.gov.au, accessed March 2024)
