Wodonga TAFE is proud to announce the nomination of teacher Brooke Pallmann as a finalist in the 2022 Victorian Training Awards, for Victorian Teacher of the Year. The winner will be announced at a gala event to be held on Saturday 10 September at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
This VTA finalist nomination follows Brooke’s award as Wodonga TAFE’s ‘Teacher of the Year 2021’, from her nomination by her peers as part of Wodonga TAFE’s annual Celebration of Achievement Awards. As a passionate Early Childhood Teacher with over 10 years’ industry experience, Brooke said she was very excited to be nominated as a finalist. “I am very proud to be representing my industry and my colleagues at the Awards.”
“This award is also amazing recognition of the work being done to ensure our Early Childhood Education and Care students have access to real-work skills which develop their readiness for employment, with practical, hands-on training a key part of their studies with Wodonga TAFE,” said Brooke.
Brooke has also been instrumental in developing learning and assessment resources as part of a DET-funded early childhood writing project for the new early childhood qualifications. Brooke continued her innovation with training through the COVID-19 restrictions to ensure her students remain engaged with their learning, and developed learning resources that continue to be relevant post-social distancing requirements.
Wodonga TAFE’s CEO, Phil Paterson, was very proud to be endorsing Brooke’s nomination, saying Brooke’s professionalism and service to her teaching profession is outstanding. “Brooke has worked in teaching and coordination roles with Wodonga TAFE. She is highly regarded and respected amongst her peers and is a wonderful ambassador for TAFE and the VET sector,” said Phil.
“Underpinning Brooke’s nomination is her comprehensive consultation and collaboration with industry, to identify and address barriers to upskilling Early Childhood Educators. Brooke has taken a lead role in working with Early Childhood services to identify and apply solutions which enabled them to grow capability and capacity,” said Phil.
