Wodonga TAFE Hairdressing Teacher a finalist in 2021 Australian Hair Industry Awards Creative

Hairdressing professional and coordinator of Wodonga TAFE’s Hairdressing program, Ms Zoe Wilde, was recently announced as a finalist in the ‘2021 Australian Hair Industry Awards Creative’. Zoe is shortlisted as a finalist for NSW/ACT Hairdresser of the Year, with winners to be announced at the 2021 AHIA Creative Gala Night of Nights on Monday 14 June 2021 at Star Casino in Sydney.
The 2021 AHIA Creative provides a national platform for creative hairdressers to aspire to, with this year’s awards quoted as focusing on “a separate awards program for creatives marking the importance of our most imaginative and original local visionaries in inspiring us all.”

Zoe said she is very proud to be a finalist for the 5th year in a row. “Being shortlisted as a finalist for NSW/ACT Hairdresser of the Year is such wonderful recognition”, said Zoe, “These Awards provide a great opportunity for hairdressing professionals to showcase their creativity and network with the highest achievers in our industry, particularly after the year of such uncertainty in 2020.”
Theresa Finnimore, Senior Educator in Creative Industries at Wodonga TAFE, said the team was very proud of Zoe’s achievements. “This is wonderful recognition of Zoe’s hard work and creativity, and we are fortunate to have her in our team of hairdressing professionals, inspiring our students with her skills and knowledge”, said Theresa. “The high quality of our teaching reflects in the capability of our graduates. We have been able to expand our Hairdressing program due to increasing interest and demand for skilled employees, and now offer both Certificate II in Salon Assistant and Certificate III in Hairdressing to students on campus as well as apprentices employed in the industry.”
