Free Support to Reconnect you with Education and Employment
Monday, 11 May 2020
Are you currently unemployed and looking to get back into paid work? You may be eligible for help with training costs through the Reconnect program.
Wodonga TAFE has been delivering the Reconnect program in Towong, Indigo and Alpine shire communities for an excess of 2 years. During this time we have helped locals into short and longer-term training at no cost including: Certificate III in Individual Support, First Aid, White Card, Chainsaw ticket and Safe Chemical User course, often using other training providers.
We work with people to identify pathways, break down barriers and build their confidence to take the first step, especially during the current challenging times. We offer one on one support to step you forward in the right direction and are there for you to talk things over with and provide practical help. We offer you the ability to take small steps initially and often start off with tickets and/or short courses, for example; Truck licence, Computer skills, White Card, Forklift licence etc. Some of these may be available in your local area. We listen to what your needs are and work from there.
To be eligible for this free support you must be aged between 17 – 64, not currently employed or at school studying, not have completed Year 12 and do not have a Certificate II or above. If you have been affected by Bushfire and/or COVID-19, there is some flexibility around this eligibility for you, please contact us to discuss further.
