Thursday, 16 May 2019
This Saturday May 18, Wodonga TAFE’s Early Learning Centre, Kids on Campus, will be hosting their first open day event.
Themed as ‘Winter Wonderland’ their aim is to show off their recently refurbished establishment and manicured outdoor area as well as showcase their new sustainability policy that earnt them a $5000 grant from Woolworths and Landcare.
The morning will see children getting face painting and playing on the jumping castle, there will be a BBQ lunch provided as well as tea/coffee and refreshments. Goodie bags have been promised to the first 30 children to arrive.
Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre is a childcare for the whole community. Director Donna Johan is dedicated to the establishment always improving their services and offerings for their families.
“We endeavour to ensure that all of our families truly feel like Kids on Campus is a safe, nurturing environment for their children.”
“We are always on the lookout for ways to improve the children learning and development and fostering each and every child’s unique personality, improving their growth in a way that is tailored to their learning needs.”
“Our families are so happy with the new refurbishment and the constant upgrading we are doing to ensure we are always modern and current with the expected standards.”
The event will run from 10am – 12pm and is hosted by Donna and her staff, offering families the opportunity to talk to the educators and see for themselves the fantastic opportunities on offer for their children.
The open day is following on from a very exciting and eventful week for Kids on Campus. Just yesterday Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre were awarded a grant from the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants Program to assist with their ever growing sustainability practices.
Woolworths and Landcare visited the centre yesterday to formally award the business and join the Kids on Campus children and their families for a ‘Family Breakfast’ event in celebration of this award.
During the morning the new sustainability policy was explained to families in a presentation. The children were also given the opportunity to help set up the new native garden, assisted by Bunnings representative, Bec.
To make the day a celebration, it was tied in with the launch of the new ‘breakfast buffet’ that is now offered to children and their parents upon arriving in the mornings for drop off.
“This is such a wonderful recognition of our plan to move toward a more sustainable future for Kids on Campus,” explains Donna.
“We are so grateful for Woolworths and Landcare for recognising and offering us this grant to further our plans.”
“We wanted to be able to provide our children and families the opportunity to sit down together in the busy drop off times and share some breakfast together and further instil the feeling of a family environment that we try so hard to maintain within our centre.”
