Hospitality students serving up amazing non-alcoholic beverages
Wednesday, 13 March 2019
Our hardworking students in the Certificate III in Hospitality turned up the creativity recently for their first assessment of their unit 'prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages' with Hospitality teacher Nikki.
Making the most of the hospitality facilities available to them here on campus, 14 students took it in turn to apply their skills and knowledge to their drink form! This included preparation and service of seven different beverages each: two mocktails - one a rosemary blueberry smash, and the other a mojito, as well as a lemon lime and bitters, a freshly squeezed orange juice, a coffee, a cup of tea, and a fruit smoothie.
Learning from our industry-current teachers who are passionate about this ever-evolving and exciting industry, our students were able to overcome presentation nerves and shine through their assessment.
"It's great to be able to see the final products come together for presentation", said one student, "The outcome makes all the hard work, practice and hands-on training worthwhile."
Set up, using equipment, time management, organisation skills, concentration, measurement, taste and adjustment of ingredients, and cleaning up after the prep was also important! And the final pictures tell the story.

Looking delish - great work everyone!
