New Time for Food and Wine Festival
Monday, 18 February 2019
The North East Food and Wine Festival is celebrating its seventh year running and will be held in Wodonga on Saturday 16 March at Junction Square.
Proudly presented by Wodonga TAFE, in collaboration with industry professionals, the very popular event will be held at a later time of 3pm – 8pm for a lovely twilight atmosphere.
“This year the festival will be bigger than ever with already over 55 confirmed stallholders coming along,” Wodonga TAFE’s events and functions co-ordinator Katie Shalevski explains, “this is the most interest we have had so far, with exhibitors coming from further out than even the North East region, it’s very exciting.”
“This event is extremely fun, family friendly and a really great day out with your mates.”
“With so many interesting and exciting activities planned, a grassy area to relax in and of course amazing local entertainment, this event is set to be our best yet,” she said.
For 2019 you can expect to be tempted yet again by fresh wood fired pizzas, the extremely popular Spanish paellas and some decadent donuts, with new exhibitors Haha Vegan, offering a range of vegan produce.
You can tantalise your taste buds with a range of seasonal produce from the region’s farm gates and providores, there will also be the opportunity to sample some of the north east’s fabulous reds, aromatic whites and luscious fortifieds, plus some of the region’s best brews.
The festival is a fantastic opportunity for the community to rally around and support local businesses from all over the north east and beyond.
“Being in a small but sparse area can be a challenge for local businesses at times to get their produce out to the public and recognised,” Katie says, “but something like this, really gives them an amazing opportunity to do just that. With it all being wrapped up into a brilliant event.”
The North East Food and Wine Festival is sponsored by Wodonga City Council, Development Victoria and Station 73.
