Revolutionizing Vocational Training Across Australia

Wodonga TAFE leads an Australia-wide network of RTOs known as the National Technical Education Network (NTEN). The NTEN uniquely delivers training services across the country, providing a shared pool of intellectual property, research for vocational learning, resource development, driving innovation, capability, and capacity. It is a partnership that was developed to establish and deliver training transformation, and maximise quality training outcomes and efficiencies for the Australian Defence Force and industry.

The NTEN offers a solution that reflects a deep appreciation of the complexity of Defence and Industry’s training challenges and aspirations. Our solution is founded on six major elements:

A Truly National Capability

The group of NTEN training partners have the scale, capability, experience, and organisational culture to exceed Industry standards and expectations.

Credible Innovation and Efficiency Approach

We take pride in our ability to look past ‘shiny initiatives’ when they do not represent value for money. Our focus is on delivering controlled, considered, and practical step-change improvements, but we have deep innovation expertise ranging from incremental efficiencies through to transformational innovation (if required).

A Mature and Collaborative Services Delivery Model

Delivery surety is important. Our model integrates our proven training systems with those of our training partners to minimise complexity and maximise quality, consistency and efficiency.

Contemporary Industry Best Practice Training

The NTEN collectively represent current best practice education and training from across Australia and all modes of training delivery. The NTEN includes some of Australia’s largest and most sophisticated training providers.

A True Partner for Industry

We deliver open collaboration, accountability, transparency, responsiveness, a solutions focus and joint ownership in achieving Defence and Industry objectives.

Enduring Sovereign Capability

The NTEN represents an opportunity for Industry to embrace a genuine sovereign capability for the benefit of Australia. The NTEN has created a first of its kind national technical trades training capability to assist Industry in maintaining the skills and expertise of their technical trade service personnel.
