HOW THE INDUSTRY IS CHANGING

While many employees in the Transport, Civil Construction and Warehousing/Logistics industries continue to be male, this is quickly changing. And gender diversity is certainly not the only changes we are seeing - cultural diversity, safety and professional communication are all priorities for industry bodies and organisations of all sizes.

Over the past 34 years, there has been a 62 per cent reduction in the number of heavy vehicle fatalities, despite rapid growth of the workforce, and more heavy vehicles on the road, over the same time. (AIS report) Take a look at any company website ion thwese industries and they will all feature information on safety, company culture and ongoing training being offered. This is now the expectation, NOT the exception.
