Diploma of Community Services

Develop the professional and empathetic skills to work within a community organisation to effectively assist individuals, families and communities in their social environments. You will gain the skills and knowledge for roles that involve service delivery, either direct client work and/or community education or development projects. Job opportunities include community services and case management work involved in the managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

Full-time: 21 months

SCHEDULE

On-campus/blended: Two days per week, 9am-4pm (Tuesdays & Wednesdays).

This course is offered as face-to-face classes. This is supported by self-directed online learning (via Moodle, our online student learning system) which also requires the completion of directed learning activities and assessments in your own time. You will also be expected to initiate your own individual study, research and learning. Learning resources, learning activities and assessment processes are accessible via Moodle. As significant critical learning occurs during class time, you are required to attend the scheduled classes.

Certificate IV in Community Services

Develop the skills and knowledge you need to work as a community service worker, designing and delivering person-centred services to individuals and/or groups. Learn to provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services.

You will find out more about rewarding career opportunities in the Health and Community Services sector and discover the many career pathways available. Throughout the course you will gain skills and knowledge for work in entry-level roles under direct supervision, where you are part of a team providing support to individuals and communities.

SCHEDULE

- On-campus/blended: Course commencing in May 2025. 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) 9.30am-3pm. Course delivery is through blended delivery which is a combination of on-campus attendance supported by online learning. Students are required to attend on-campus classes two days per week.
- Traineeship - Individual training plans will be developed in consultation with your employer, as part of your traineeship.
