Logic Innovation Precinct

Training for the future, delivered today.

Wodonga TAFE Logic Innovation Precinct

Wodonga TAFE's Logic Innovation Precinct is a game-changer for the region and beyond, meeting the needs of many industries and sectors, including heavy vehicles and transport, logistics, advanced manufacturing, automation and robotics, civil construction, Defence, and emergency services.

Logic Innovation Precinct brings together current and future skills by integrating three segments: Research and Education, Industry Partners, and an Innovation Ecosystem.

Bringing new product ideas, innovation, and future-thinking, Logic Innovation Precinct will support economic growth, jobs, sustainability, and infrastructure, while providing investment opportunities in alignment with government funding and initiatives.

Logic Innovation Precinct combines the existing and evolving training opportunities for Wodonga TAFE into six key deliverable areas, that will be developed over the coming years to form the integrated partnerships required to meet the training needs of the future for our industries and communities.

Logic Innovation Precinct development is formulated into three key stages, and provides the scope for an array of additional future development.

Advanced Manufacturing

Heavy Vehicle Technology (In construction)

This will see the delivery of a combination of refreshed and bespoke spaces to support research into and training of heavy vehicle operation, maintenance and testing. Wodonga TAFE  will deliver a state-of-the-art proving, experimentation, and training ground providing comprehensive driver training for heavy vehicle operators.  This is about more than just driver safety — it will add Australian skills, expertise, and jobs through investment in advanced technical trades.

In addition, new main client and corporate spaces will be built to further encourage industry and community use of the precinct alongside research and training. As part of this we will also be developing and implementing our Experiential Advanced Manufacturing Labs, which forms a stepping stone to the future construction of our Industrial Advanced Manufacturing Workshops.

The experiential workspaces will focus on providing introductory courses and basic prototyping access to Advanced Manufacturing to encourage local industry and trainee engagement with Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies. These workspaces will be available to use by researchers and local industry in the soon to be Main Client Building at Logic Innovation Precinct.

The facility will be complemented by a demonstration room for the short-term installation and showcase of new technologies from Original Equipment Manufacturers.

Industrial Advanced Manufacturing (Seeking funding)

A bespoke new facility will be home to our Industrial Advanced Manufacturing Workshops.  This facility will house industrial sized and scaled technology and forms a natural progression for local industry who have participated in research and innovation, and skills development at either our MakerSpace (which will be located at Wodonga TAFE Mckoy St Campus) and/or our Experiential Advanced Manufacturing Labs (which will be located in our new Main Client Building at Logic Innovation Precinct).

Access to these facilities will empower the region to engage with Advanced Manufacturing at an industrial level helping to increase the competitiveness of local small to medium enterprises.

Uncrewed and Autonomous Vehicles (Concept stage)

The next big frontier in vehicle technology is facing into the emergence of Uncrewed and Autonomous Vehicles and Systems. Driverless vehicles, robotic teammates, drone aircraft and unmanned marine vessels are already in use and are becoming more and more commonplace to service the needs of Supply Chain Management, Remote Inspection and Maintenance, Intelligence, Security, Freight and Logistics, Mining amongst many others.

The development of these vehicles is more complex than the construction thereof and includes many digital aspects that are employed to design them, instruct their artificial intelligence systems, code their interfaces and the like.

As such the Logic Innovation Precinct provides a unique opportunity to become a powerful centre for the testing and research of Unmanned and Autonomous Vehicles providing facilities for the construction of materials and frames (Additive Manufacturing), assembly and maintenance (Automotive and Robotics), programming and security (Cyber and Data) and finally for the in environment testing through road like and offroad driving tracks, flight zones with designated landing pads and marine and river like environments.
