Our History

Motorsports Training Australia (MTA) was officially launched on August 6 1999, by the Director of the Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE), Jim Davidson and Super Touring Car Champion, Brad Jones. This new and innovative course, designed with input from industry leaders and practitioners, was created in order to provide students with engineering skills tailored for racing teams across various sectors of the motorsports industry. 

Since its inception, MTA has been at the forefront of innovation, continually adapting to meet the evolving needs of the industry. The success of MTA's programs is evident in the high employment rates of its graduates, who secure positions in renowned racing teams such as Brad Johnson Racing, Cool Drive and Triple Eight Race Engineering.

MTA's training venue at Wodonga TAFE's Logic Campus includes a purpose-built driver circuit and a large spacious workshop that would be the envy of most racing teams. The workshop includes facilities for race car preparation, fabrication, and production where you will gain extensive hands-on experience and skills that can take you straight to employment in the industry!
